Do you have strong intuitive abilities but feel that because you don't look or act a certain way you can't possibly be a healer? What does a healer look and act like?
On today's show, Ivy Felicia, of Me, My Body & Love, and I discuss our preconceived ideas of what it means to be a healer. Why is one's weight seen as something to be healed? Are you considered more spiritually evolved if you are thin, white, and able-bodied?
Ivy Felicia is a Certified Holistic Wellness and Body Image Coach with a gift for helping people of all body types discover abiding body peace and abundant self-love at any stage of life. Her Body Relationship Coaching™ work is centered on her personal experiences with barriers to body love, and more than a decade of social and professional involvement in the emotional wellness and health education movements.

Today’s episode features Shannon, who is the founder of FabUplus Magazine, and Tone, of the Cosmic Rogue Tribe podcast!
Shannon is breaking the media mold by offering a plus-size, body positive, health, fitness, weight neutral, and lifestyle PRINT magazine!! Listen in as she describes her leap of faith that has lead her on this awesome journey.
Shannon’s body positive journey began in the summer 2015 when she was just done, done with the body hate and the shame she felt over how she looked.
In July 2015 Shannon was on a mission, a mission to get thin.. she couldn’t stand her body any longer. At 250 pounds, She had been running 23 kilometers a week for 2 years and not getting the results she wanted.
She was eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly, why was she still fat?
She made an appointment with her doctor to explore weight loss surgery as an option. Bottom line, it wasn’t. Her tests showed she was healthy, fit, and therefore NOT a candidate for surgery.
Shannon set out on a mission, a mission to find others like her. She discovered a whole community of amazing plus size women living their lives to the fullest. Right then and there she knew the plus size community needed a media platform that was designed for them. A place that wouldn’t try to change who we are, but one what would celebrate our diversity. FabUplus was born!
